Dr. Deidre Cooper-Owens — Medical Bondage: Race, Gender, and the Origins of American Gynecology

Dr. Deirdre Cooper-Owens’s upcoming visit to UNC: She’s a medical historian @CUNY-Queens College, with a recently published book on race relations and the rise of US gynecology, titled Medical Bondage: Race, Gender, and the Origins of American Gynecology (http://www.ugapress.org/index.php/books/medical_bondage). Dr. DCO is a guest of the UNC dept. of History, and all are welcome to her public talk this January 17th at 3:30pm. Due to popular interest, the location has been moved to the Pleasants Family Room in Wilson Library.
