The National Humanities Center is hosting a virtual, interdisciplinary conference from April 11-14, 2022.

“A Crisis of Caring: The Humanities and Our Health” will explore how humanistic approaches can help identify the symptoms and causes of our malaise while guiding us toward a healthier, more caring future.

The program includes a conversation between HHIVE Lab Co-Director, Jane Thrailkill (currently an NHC Fellow) and narrative medicine pioneer, Rita Charon; a discussion with author Eula Biss about her narrative piece, “The Pain Scale;” and panels with researchers, clinicians, and writers. You can view the full schedule and register to attend by visiting the conference website.
