Active Minds at Carolina presents, “At the Intersection of Race and Mental Health”

February 23, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Mental illness does not occur in a vacuum, but is developed through myriad biological, psychological, and social factors.

In this panel, we hope to shed light on social forces that are increasing the prevalence of mental health conditions among racial minorities — including chronic stress incurred from discrimination, barriers to finding culturally-competent therapy, and a severe lack of representation within our mainstream dialogue on mental health.
