Kate Marshall’s current project examines the relations between contemporary literary experiments in nonhuman narration and theoretical debates about the category of the nonhuman, and shows how these forms of thinking and writing have an important and overlooked history in the old, weird American fiction of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
