An Evening with Anna Starobinets

September 21, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us on September 21, 2023 from 5-7pm at the Hyde Hall, University Room.

Tienes que mirar" de Anna Starobinets | De la ciencia ficción al testimonio | Página|12

Anna Starobinets is an award-winning Russian writer in exile known for her horror and children’s stories. She will talk about her recently translated memoir, Look at Him, in which she writes honestly and potently about pregnancy, reproductive justice, and healthcare in Russia and Germany. The memoir combines autobiography with interviews of healthcare providers and birthing parents to tell the story of dehumanizing abortion care and grief after pregnancy loss.

The event is co-sponsored by the Moral Economies of Medicine Working Group; HHIVE Lab; Department of German and Slavic Languages and Literatures; The Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies; The Russian Flagship Program; and the Institute of Arts & Humanities.
