Lecture, “Treatment of PTSD: From Pharmacotherapy to Virtual Reality”

The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience is hosting a free lecture titled “Treatment of PTSD: From Pharmacotherapy to Virtual Reality” on Sept. 18th at Graham Memorial Hall from 3-4pm.

Barbara Olasov Rothbaum is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Director of the Trauma and Anxiety Recovery Program at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Rothbaum is a clinical psychologist who specializes in research on the treatment of individuals with anxiety disorders, focusing in particular on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Most relevant to the Cowan Lecture, Dr. Rothbaum is a pioneer in the application of virtual reality exposure therapy to the treatment of psychological disorders.
