LMCC Meeting
February 24, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Reading(s): For our February meeting, we’ll be discussing the introduction to Priscilla Wald’s 2008 monograph Contagious: Cultures, Carriers, and the Outbreak Narrative. You can access the reading on the “Readings” page of the LMCC website.
About LMCC: The Literature, Medicine, and Culture Colloquium (LMCC) is an informal working group comprising undergraduate and graduate students along with a few faculty members. We typically meet once or twice every month and discuss a previously agreed upon reading over coffee and snacks. (Obviously, we’ll be meeting via Zoom this semester.) To get a sense of what we have covered in past meetings, see the LMCC website.
How to Join: Anyone interested in these readings and their subsequent discussions are welcome! For all of our virtual meetings this semester, we will use the same Zoom link: https://unc.zoom.us/j/99228197675 Don’t miss out on future meetings, join our email list here.
We’ve also created a Google Doc where you can add suggestions for future readings. Please feel free to add your suggestions there.
Save the Dates: LMCC will meet the following dates this term:
- Wed. March 31, 5:30pm-6:30pm
- Wed. April 28, 5:30pm-6:30pm
Questions? If you have any questions or concerns, especially if you run into issues accessing the reading or our Zoom room, please contact LMCC Co-Directors Rachel Warner and Paul Blom, doctoral students in the Department of English & Comparative Literature.
