Symposium: Vesalius and the Languages of Anatomy

Duke University is hosting a symposium entitled: Vesalius and the Languages of Anatomy on Thursday, September 17th and Friday, September 18th. This event is organized by Valeria Finucci, CMRS, Romance Studies and Theater Studies. Some speakers include Dr. Cynthia Klestinec of Miami University on “Vesalius and the Works of the Hands” and Dr. Pablo Maurette of the University of Chicago on “The Organs of Organs: Vesalius, Casserio, Crooke, and the Wonders of the Human Hand.”

The symposium will discuss the legacy of Andreas Vesalius and is complimented by the ongoing exhibit in the Rubenstein Library’s Chappell Family Gallery.
