Trent Center Humanities in Medicine Lecture Series with Dr. Ralph Snyderman

“A Chancellor’s Tale: Transforming Academic Medicine”  

Thursday, November 10th at 12:00pm in The Great Hall (lower level of the Trent Semans Center)

Dr. Snyderman served as Chancellor of Duke University during a period of enormous political and financial upheaval.  His story illuminates the challenges of transforming a major academic medical center into an integrated health care system, while pioneering a new paradigm of health care widely known today as prospective or personalized medicine.   

Ralph Snyderman, MD was Duke University’s Chancellor for Health Affairs from 1989 to 2004 and the founding president and CEO of the Duke University Health System. Currently, he is director of the Duke Center for Research on Personalized Health Care at the Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Snyderman has received numerous honors, authored almost 400 manuscripts and is the editor or coeditor of several books.
