The newly resurrected Iris: The Literary and Arts Journal at UNC School of Medicine is seeking submissions for the Summer 2021 issue and for students to join the leadership team.

Submissions

The Iris call for submissions is open to all UNC School of Medicine students, faculty, staff, and alumni along with all UNC-CH graduate students.

The journal is accepting poetry, essays, short fiction, visual art, and photography. Please limit essays and short fiction to 5,000 words. Authors may submit up to 3 poems.

Please submit your work as a Word document with a cover letter through the online application by June 5, 2021 at 11:59pm.

Editorial Staff

Iris is expanding its editorial team and seeking new members including the following: contributing editors, reviewers, contributing artists & photographers, poetry editor, and arts director. Information on each editorial role, time commitment, and expectations can be found on the online application.

All applications must be submitted through the online application, which is due by June 11, 2021 at 11:59pm.
